Players born between June 1, 2017 - May 31, 2022
The Angels "Scheels-Intro to Hockey" program is your player's first chance to join one of the greatest sports in the world! A fun opportunity to try hockey without having to make the investment in equipment and ice fees. We encourage all boys & girls (ages 4-8) interested in the game of hockey to join us for these sessions on September 26-27 & October 10-11, 2026.
Age eligible players that live in Fargo, West Fargo, Moorhead, or surrounding communities must either attend a private school, be homeschooled, or have intentions to enroll in one of the network of private schools if the player is not yet of school age.
WHAT
This program is designed for kids that want to try hockey for the first time. A $50 registration fee is collected at the time of registration online.
Prior to the program's start date, each player is fitted by Scheels individually for all equipment including; skates, shoulder pads, elbow pads, pants, shin guards, gloves, and helmet. Additionally a stick and bag is provided as well. This is all at no extra charge!
All players will be fitted for skater equipment. No goalie equipment will be issued for this program.
Players get 4 fun hours of ice time in October fun with Angels coaches leading. Once the Intro program is concluded, Players can signup for our winter season and keep the equipment at no extra charge, or return the equipment if they decide not to participate in the winter season.
Note: Players that have previously participated in this program or any other "Intro to Hockey" program at another organization are not eligible.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to purchase any equipment for my player?
No. The Angels organization will completely outfit your player including all protective gear, skates, stick, and bag.
What if my player doesn't know how to skate?
Do not worry. We will have all ability levels and coaches and experienced players on the ice to support the numbers to ensure everyone has a great experience.
Can I be on the ice with my player?
We don't allow parents and/or family members to be on the ice unless they are registered with USA Hockey with the appropriate SafeSport certifications and coverage.
Why should I sign up sooner than later?
In order for the Angels to get all the equipment needed for each player, we need to know the number of players signed up for the program.
