Meet Casey Johnson

Co-Hockey Director – Angels Hockey

Angels Hockey is proud to have Casey Johnson serving as our Co-Hockey Director, bringing with him a wealth of experience as both a high-level player and a respected leader in the game. Casey’s hockey journey reflects the exact standard of development, accountability, and professionalism we strive to provide every Angels athlete.

A native of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Casey advanced through elite junior hockey before competing at the University of North Dakota, one of the premier programs in college hockey. Following his collegiate career, Casey went on to play professionally for multiple seasons, including time in the ECHL and SPHL, most notably with the Idaho Steelheads, where he competed at one of the highest levels of professional hockey outside the NHL.

Beyond his on-ice résumé, what truly sets Casey apart is his ability to lead, teach, and connect with players. As Co-Hockey Director, he plays a critical role in shaping the Angels Hockey development model. Working directly with coaches, designing practice standards, and ensuring players are learning the game the right way at every age level. His experience navigating youth, junior, college, and professional hockey gives him a unique perspective that few can offer to young athletes and families.

Player Development You Can Trust and a Leader Invested in Our Organization

Casey’s commitment to Angels Hockey goes far beyond. As a member of our hockey leadership team, he is deeply invested in:

  • Raising the overall standard of development within the association
  • Supporting and mentoring Angels coaches
  • Creating a positive, challenging, and growth-focused culture
  • Preparing players for success at the next level or whatever path they might choose

His presence within the organization ensures that Angels players are learning from someone who has walked the path they aspire to follow.
