The Angels opened the weekend against West Fargo White. The game started back and forth as the Angels scored first. WF tied it a short time later. The Angels took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission. The game was tied at 3 halfway through the 2nd before the Angels pulled away and finished with a 9-5 victory.
Game 2 brought the Mayport Ice Dawgs to town. This one was all Angels as they won 20-3.
Game 3 on Sunday had the Angels playing the Otters for Fergus Falls. The Angels struck first, 3 minutes into the game. After 1 the Angels had a 3-0 lead. The Angels started off fast in the 2nd period scoring just 1:22 into the period. The Angels didn’t let down as they scored 4 times in the 2nd to take a 7-1 lead to the intermission. The 3rd period brought much of the same as the Angels finished with a 10-3 victory to finish the weekend with 3 strong victories!

Great work despite our losses this weekend boys!!
Angels Bantam White got the season off to a good start with a 2-1 league win over JVC on Friday night. Landon Walter was solid in net with 17 saves and both Cale Astrup and Will Mehus were able to find the back of the net in leading the Angels to a victory.
The weekend saw our Angels hosting a couple of Minnesota teams from Morris-Benson and Crookston respectively. Both games saw our boys get off to slow starts, and we ended up playing catch the rest of the game which ultimately was too little too late. The Saturday loss (3-8) was highlighted by Will Mehus who had two goals and Aryn Dilger scoring his first of the season. Sunday’s loss (2-4) was highlighted offensively by Cale Astrup who tallied 2 goals. The Angels fought hard until the end in both games and actually ended up leading in total shots in both weekend losses.
Good first weekend of hockey, but bigger and better things are ahead for this team as they get moving with the season.
The Fargo Angels Bantam A started of their regular season play with 1 home game and 2 on the road…
Game 1: Grand Forks Red at Fargo Angels
This contest Friday evening was full of end to end action with the Angels possessing the puck the majority of the game. First period scoring by Michael Rostberg with help from Colton Nestler and Avery Quiner. Angels outshot Grand Forks 26 to 16 with Merik Ginaker earning a well-deserved shutout! Angels win 1-0
Game 2: Fargo Angels at Devils Lake
Saturday afternoon, the Angels squared off against Devils Lake in their barn. Fast play, fantastic breakouts, and nice O-zone play was not enough to combat the chip-out and dump and chase style from Devils Lake. With significant advantage in puck possession and shots on goal by the Angels, the DL offense was able to take over on a few odd man rushes and come out on top 5-1 while being outshot 42-25. Angels Lose 5-1
Game 3: Fargo Angels at Moorhead
Sunday evening tilt was a main event of a game with a relatively rare appearance against Moorhead in their barn. The Angels jumped out to a very nice and relatively safe lead of 2-0 after the first period with goals from Sam Ovsak and Michael Rostberg. This set the tone nicely and kept Cullen Arena relatively quiet. Second period had no scoring with heaps of action. The first shift of period 3 had Sam Ovsak taking control early (again)! Up 3-0 the Angels were flying high and super confident. The Spuds were not giving up and the next 4 goals were unanswered and a devastating loss handed out. The crushing blow came to a team who played well enough to win with smart play and dirty area toughness. Moorhead decided to fly their forwards in the 3rd and the strategy ultimately proved successful. Angels lose 4-3
